ELVEES was founded in 2001 in association with the department of scientific development association “Elas” (NPO “Elas”). From 1960 to 1980 this department was responsible for the development of advanced space technologies from developing computer aided design (CAD) to complete airborne hardware and software systems for Salut space series. Systems were operated on stations including “MIR”.
