Application and characteristic features

The system has been developed for heart-state monitoring in large population groups. It is achieved due to compact size of the cardio-monitor and possibility of data-transmitting by e-mail. User friendliness allows any patient to monitor his cardio-signals on his own, without any assistance. Moreover, data processing can be carried out by cardiologists through the Internet that saves money and increases data circulation speed considerably.

High recording quality of the system implements heart-rhythm and ST-segment analysis (ischemia symptoms revelation).

Cardio-monitor ELSCAN can uninterruptedly monitor heart-rhythm without battery replacement for 7 days.

Cardio episodes are recorded by means of two leads (LEAD I and LEAD II) that comply with MIT and European ST database standards.

Monitor design guarantees sanitary safety of the system. ELSCAN consists of 3 parts. Processor is used during the whole operation life. It is protected with a disposable case. ECG cables are disposable too. Hence, component parts contacting patients skin are replaced for every next patient.

Compact size and weight of the monitor ensure its imperceptible and comfortable bearing during monitoring.

High density of diagnostically relevant data is achieved by the extended monitoring period and automatic rhythm disturbances identification and recording. Monitor, representing an episode register, is designed to record and store only diagnostically relevant data, when a patient starts recording or when it gets started by the on-line analysis that has been tested on MIT database by a rhythm disturbance revelation algorithm.

Specially developed software is used for every data-reading and data-processing stage and for medical comment making.

Ambulatory monitor ELSCAN

A compact device capable of recording 84 ECG episodes of 80 seconds long during a seven-day monitoring. Looping recording mode allows to store two periods of cardio-signal - 40 seconds before and 40 seconds after an episode. Thus, a history of cardio-signal before the episode is stored in the memory.

The patient initiates ECG recording by pressing a button when he feels heart symptoms. Besides, monitor records an episode in case the button has not been pressed and automatic record has not been conducted for three hours.

The monitor constantly analyses cardiogram, distinguishes QRS complexes and initiates recording automatically having detected rhythm disturbances.

The devise is provided with a patient alarm mode which activates when twenty pauses or one 10-second pause is detected (the patient will be alarmed of asystole threat and the necessity of urgent medical help)

Automatic recording settings:

  • Asystole (pause) more than 2 seconds
  • Fibrillation more then 15 seconds
  • Heart rate tachycardia - more than 140 for 10 subsequent intervals
  • Paroxysmal tachycardia for 10 subsequent intervals
  • Heart rate bradycardia less than 40 for 5 subsequent intervals
  • Periodic - after every three hours without recording
